A Trip Back Home (Concord, NC)

Home is where the heart is, but sometimes it's important to go back to the place where you grew up to really remember who you are and where you came from. This past weekend provided just that! The roadtrip full of family and friends was made in honor of love, while working to raise money for a childhood friend (and father of three) battling Leukemia for a second time.

Upon arriving in North Carolina, my parents and I opted for a night out. We drove to Concord for an evening of live music courtesy of County Line. With one uncle on Drums and another running sound, it was quite an enjoyable night!

Saturday morning I had the pleasure of meeting this fun family! Mom and Dad were very laid back and Dad even suprised us all with his spontaneity while expressing his love for his wife. I LOVED IT!

Miss "A" struggled to keep from yawning after a long night with a friend, yet still managed to show her sweet spirit and her beautiful smile.

Mr. "L" is cute as a button and kept me on my toes as he challenged us to have more fun! Luckily, we discovered the secret to bring him out of his shell and really get into what we were doing. Sorry, Mom & Dad, but you'll have to wait just a little longer for that one!

A little later in the day, I was happy to reunite with an old friend from high school when she met me in the gardens with her favorite nine year old. It was so sweet to see all the love and admiration "H.G" has for her cousin, who had also driven hours in order to make this happen. Thanks, J. You look great!
